Changing consumer demands driving packaging innovation in APAC

According to an Amcor study involving 12,000 consumers in 6 countries, 76% of respondents mentioned that they want to recycle far more than they now do.

“The traits that we are observing reflect consumers’ changing priorities and existence. From format substitution (rigid to flexible) to recycle-prepared packaging and people that use much less components, we are functioning to deliver dependable, sustainable and higher-functionality packaging that consumers are on the lookout for,”​ Dr Lu Qiang, R&D Vice President of Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific, instructed FoodNavigator-Asia​.  

At the exact same time, the organization has noticed a preference for item packaging that is straightforward and effortless to use, these as portable squeeze pouches and resealable packs, due to present day on-the-go life.

To stand out on the cabinets, models are ever more leaning to customised packaging to “build associations and push loyalty”. These contain sensory packaging, electronic printing, and exclusive finishes.

Blazing the path

Recognising the need, Amcor has invested US$100m to established up a new flexible packaging plant in Huizhou, China.

The 590,000 square feet facility is explained to have the biggest creation potential in the place, and will participate in a big role in the generation of flexible packaging for foods and private treatment products.
